Welcome to Fashion Confidence 101!

As I said at the end of my last post, I have had a few(but not many!) suggestions on what you want me to write about for my next blog posts, since I have a severe case of bloggers block :( I got these two (similar) suggestions to base my post off of today :D
1) "how to keep your style individual without looking like your trying to hard?"
2)"how to look fashionable without looking like EVERYONE-ELSE!"
After some major debating, I came up with some helpful tips and hints for you all to use :D
  1. Confidence! That is definetly the key component to wearing, well, any outfit! I am sure you all know that, but we all need to be reminded constantly(even me!) that confidence is key. You can pull of any look if you come into a room with good posture, a confident walk, and a big smile.
  2. Don't complain to you friends secretly about....erm....how you bra strap sticks out or something. Just act like you meant it to happen. I definetly would compare this to performing. If you are on stage dancing, acting, etc., you always make sure no one knows your mistakes. You act like they were meant to be!
  3. A great way to keep your style individual is to go to unknown stores. Check out vintage, or thrift stores! You can find totally unique pieces there, and (usually!) won't have to worry about your arch enemy walking into school wearing the same dress as you :D Some people I know are grossed out by thrift stores, but that makes being unique so much easier!
  4. Here is something I cannot do...go on a major shopping trip with my friends (except Aurley!) Most of them I would get so annoyed because I take so long to shop. I like to take hours searching through racks. So I suggest if you want to find unique things, take 1 friend maximum. Mabey thats just me though...
Well, those are a couple of tips and tricks for those comments you guys sent me! Thanks to ~*Live2Love2Laugh*~ and Molly SayWhaat for requesting the tips!
I put up, yet again, a NEW playlist :D I added ALOT of Jonas, but there is alot of variety besides Jonas Brothers. But what do you expect from a crazed Jonas fan XD
Well, I am still having a major case of fashion bloggers block :( So I need to know what fashion tips/tricks/info/labels/etc. you want to hear! As for today,
Givin Some Love Back,
Alyssa

Hey I'm going to read this blog later because it looks really interesting but I don't have time right now cause I'm just on quick to check my blog.

There's no tension between us!! I'm sorry if I came across as mad or something. I really didn't mean to! :/

And yeah, I reread that blog posted before, & decided that anyone who doesn't know him would think he's like a jerk and just trying to show off. But really, he's not. And I promise I'm not just saying that because I like him. Haha you could ask pretty much anyone that knows him, they'd prolly say something like, "HAHA! He's awesome! I love that kid!"

Great key points.

Probably the Confidence the most important for me.

Hmm, I really love checking out new stores too and going to vintage stores like St. Vinnys. I could thrift shop for hours. Haha. But yet I love to splurge sometimes too. :)

And I think if you take to many friends shopping it gets overwelming.

Thanks for commenting!

Woo! I definetly agree with this post!! Confidence is key. :) And Thanks for saying you can shop with me. :P I really dont mind how long you take... I can take as long or short of time as the people around me want to do. But, Like you, I prefer to look around and make sure Im getting the best thing. :P And I know you know what I think about complaining.. So I esspecially agree with that one. Although it ties in with the confidence thing. Both important.

Love Love Love the new playlist! Could some of those have been inspired by the artist spotlights? I sure hope so!! Thanks Lyssa~
(I call you that sometimes in real life and I remind myself I shouldnt since there actually IS a Lyssa) I justheard a legally blond song! Awesomeee!! Wanna see Mamma Mia with me? It should be good, I saw it in new york in 4th grade. But I think itd be nifty if we saw it together because we are such awesome acting nerds. :]
Kay. Illshutupnow. Bye!

Hey I finally got a chance to read your post, good job with the tips! I recently changed my style a whole bunch and decided I'm not too fond of all the really "popular" stores anymore like Hollister or Abercrombie & Fitch. Sure, they have cute stuff .. But who wants to spend that much money for something that is VERY LIKELY for at least one other person to have!? I mean, I don't care if I have the same clothes as someone else, because that's just dumb. But I really do like being different, and standing out (but in a good, modest way!) and I have a totally different style than most of the kids in my school, so it's very unlikely for me to be wearing the same thing as someone else anyways! I love thrift stores and shopping at places no one thinks to even look at, or has ever even heard of!

I agree 100% about the confidence thing, by the way. Confidence really is key!! And I also know what you mean about #4. I probably only enjoy REALLY, TRULY shopping with one of my friends, because she is the exact same way I am, and gives great fashion tips! Otherwise I like going shopping with my mom and my aunt, cause they have more patience. Haha!

HEY GIRL!

These are some really great tips. I would have to agree with everyone else, only a fashion expert would be able to dish out advice this good. I look forward to being educated on other things I can do to perk up my sense of fashion. Lol. In the mean time, you should really check out Toyota's "If Looks Could Kill" series. Since fashion and style is your thing, I know that you would get a kick out of Bianca and become hooked just like I did. I' telling you it's bound to happen. And then you start to participate too...you'll have to watch the webisodes to see what I'm talking about.

They follow an aspiring fashion assistant, Bianca Turner (played by Femi Emiola, Wicked Wicked Games), who is a prime example of a woman who’s got it going on. I’m talking the dream job, a man who’s got all the ladies drooling, and the spice to keep it all together when hell hits the fan. Think James Bond meets Sanaa Lathan in “Something New”, Bianca is the girl who isn’t afraid to run in her Louboutin heels!

Link: http://www.iflookscouldkill.com

The fifth episode-Devil In a Blue Dress- has been available since today (7/14), but it's not too late to catch up and tune in. I work with Toyota, so take my word for it.

I'm sure that you will be reeled in, so don't be surprised when you are. Also, don't forget to hit me up with the scoop on your thoughts, or comments from others, about the webisodes.

Looking forward to the girl talk!

Best,

hey cool, i think this post is awesome. You should keep doin stuff lie this. I think i'm probably a fashion emergency so it's good to have some tips. I have a question, can a short petite girl with bigger muscular thighs wear wide leg pants/trousers? if so what shirt would go best on top if she has a bigger bust and bigger arms? One more thing i like the vintage look what are some peices i could get that would ade in getting that look. i'm also active so i like sporty stuff too can i combine them in a practical way?

I especially agree with don't complain! I always feel that if I have a pimple, I should not complain to my friends! I mean, wmost of them only start noticing it, when you are complaining about it! :/.
